Kale has stopped trying to get people to pronounce her name correctly, which, for the record, is ‘Kah-lee.’ Things weren’t that bad before kale became a superfood. It doesn’t help that she’s a produce manager at Whole Foods. Customers and vendors are confused, then amused. The jokes are as endless as they are bad. She thinks kale is ridiculous and best left where it came from — salad bar landscaping. Her dark leafy green of choice is swiss chard.
