As a kid, Filipe was always throwing his body around. He used to drive his mother most crazy with his constant ‘stair flying’ — jumping from the top step to the bottom of any staircase. In the house, at the library, in the mall, in the train station. He’d lift off, leaping gracefully, arms outstretched for balance, right leg out in front to slow the impact. Sometimes he’d land perfectly, most times, he did not. Miraculously, he caused more property damage than physical harm. He’s now Denzel Washington’s go to stunt double. And last week, Idris Elba’s people called.
