She’s working on a script, a horror-comedy about a gang of fed up personal assistants who seek bloody revenge on their abusive bosses. She drinks more coffee than is medically advisable.

While her kids were growing up, Penny was the receptionist for the orthodontist in town. They were all beneficiaries of discount orthodontia and still get compliments on their well aligned mouths. For the last five years, Penny has been the author of the Penny for Your Thoughts advice column in The Penny Thrifter. When she pitched it to them, she thought they’d say it was ‘too on the nose’ but to her surprise, they went for it. The response has been phenomenal. The backseat of her car is littered with scraps of paper with ideas for future columns and salt water taffy wrappers. If she were going to give herself some advice, she’d tell herself to let her hair go gray and to cool it with the taffy.

Clarke O. Issacs is a writer whose best ideas have always hit him in the shower. He often takes two or three a day. During the California drought of 1987-1992, he started taking waterless showers, pantomiming his usual routine. He found flashes of inspiration still came and these ‘idea showers’ became part of his creative process. The drought years were a fertile time for Clarke. He began working on his Hugo award-winng CRACKED EARTH series. More recently, he has angered climate change deniers with his novel THE DENIED, in which a group of evil, egomaniacal, and greedy politicians and CEOs march humanity to its ultimate demise. He is widely known as the father of the ‘post science’ science fiction genre.

A year later, he married the sister and he is now that baby’s uncle.
